Truckee River Clean-Up Day
This annual project provides clean-up of “hot spots” along the river. Hot spot areas are identified by park staff and project partners as areas in need of litter pick-up and trash removal, tree wrapping, weed pulling and graffiti removal. Truckee River Clean-up day will be held September 29, 2007.
The River Fund supported this event in 2006. Over 350 community volunteers removed 13 tons of debris and trash from the river corridor. Tree wrapping, graffiti removal, and the stenciling of storm drains were also completed.
TMWA Benefit:
Directly benefits water quality and the watershed of the Truckee River, thereby maintaining water quality to the intakes of TMWA’s water treatment facilities.
