River Restoration & Stewardship Program

Objective 1:  Reduce, Remove, and Recycle pollution and waste affecting the Truckee River Watershed. Frequent and regular direct action carried out by the GreenVibe World team will help to maintain and encourage a clean, safe, and healthy watershed, helping to forge and provide the opportunity for safe recreation and positive community engagement.

Objective 2: Provide outreach and education surrounding available resources to the homeless community actively camping in the Truckee River Watershed. The GreenVibe team will connect with homeless communities encountered during stewardship operations, providing information relating to recovery, housing, and rehabilitation available locally.

Objective 3. Successfully work with and guide at-risk youth interns to fulfil their service commitments to the community, obtain gainful employment, and become positive and productive members of society. The GreenVibe team will provide work experience, resume writing and interview prep, and job placement assistance for Interns who successfully complete their service commitment to the river and community.

TMWA Benefit:

GreenVibe Worlds River Restoration and Stewardship Program will advance the Truckee River Funds Stewardship and Environmental Awareness priority through regular, consistent, and thorough clean-up events focused on the Truckee River Watershed. Conducted through a combination of weekly clean-up events carried out by GreenVibe Worlds team of River Stewards and Interns, monthly local business service days, and large quarterly community clean-ups. GreenVibe World prioritizes the quick removal of abandoned camps that threaten our watershed, both on public and private property, and has, in its four years of activity, demonstrated a strong track record of executing safe, effective, and meaningful operations that have directly benefited the Truckee River Watershed and our community as a whole. This Grant will allow for GreenVibe World to expand and optimize its operations focused on the Truckee River Watershed, provide purpose through service to at-risk youth, enable positive community engagements, and enable the organization to continue its strides in forging both financial independence and long-term value and service to both our natural environment and our community.
