Truckee River & Tributaries-Weed Treatments & Revegetation
Continued invasive weed control and habitat restoration program along the Truckee River corridor. Work will begin in May 2014 with an invasive weed pull at six selected sites coordinated with the Truckee Meadows Cooperative Weed Group. This work will be followed by spraying for weed control utilizing Great Basin Institute work crews, weed control re-treatment, reseeding of selected areas with native vegetation, and application of pre-emergent spray in the fall.
TMWA Benefit:
Completion of the project will reduce erosion and sediment deposition in the Truckee River and maintain overall water quality upstream of TMWA’s Water Treatment Plants.
