Pioneer Ditch Dam Modification
This project involves the permanent reconstruction of the Pioneer Ditch Dam Diversion which lies adjacent to TMWA’s Glendale Water Treatment Plant. Current configuration of the dam poses a flood and public safety hazard. The proposed design will mitigate these hazards and will improve fish passage and water quality in the river along this reach.
TMWA Benefit:
When completed the improved diversion will reduce flood impact to the Glendale Plant, particularly during high flow and regulatory flood conditions below 12,000 cfs. TMWA staff has been pro-active in trying to find a solution to the current configuration of the diversion. This project is consistent with the approach TMWA has taken with the future reconstruction of the Glendale Diversion.
