Mt Rose Noxious Weed Monitoring & Treatment
Treatment of approximately 50 acres for noxious, invasive weeds within the Mount Rose Wilderness Hunter Creek drainage area. Using trained, volunteer work crews, emphasis will be placed on the removal of musk thistle and perennial pepperweed. This watershed is a direct contributor to the Truckee River upstream of TMWA’s Glendale Water Treatment Plant.
TMWA Benefit:
This project supports invasive weed control in the Truckee River Watershed and helps to preserve raw water quality to TMWA treatment facilities.
