Cemetery Drain Water Quality, Erosion Control and Drainage Project

This project will address and eliminate the routine discharge of significant sediment to the Truckee River that occurs during localized thunderstorms. Construction of bank stabilization, grade control structures and a large sediment trap will significantly reduce sediment and debris carried by storm water runoff.

TMWA Benefit:

Sediment and debris flows during storm events negatively impacts the stability of river banks and water treatment plant efficiency. This project, which TMWA supports, will reduce bank erosion and reduce the amount of sediment and debris trapped in screening facilities and pre-settling basins.
