Truckee River Noxious Weed Program
This project entails the removal of tamarisk in the vicinity of the Numana Fisheries near Wadsworth. Tamarisk has significantly spread in the area and is quickly displacing native cottonwoods, willows and other riparian vegetation in the area. Reestablishment of the cottonwoods, willows and native riparian vegetation will improve water quality, lower water temperatures and improve the fishery.
TMWA Benefit:
TMWA and the community benefit from water quality improvements on the Truckee River system.
