Town of Truckee Watercraft Inspection Program

The Town of Truckee recently passed an ordinance requiring mandatory watercraft inspection for all watercraft launched into Donner Lake. This grant request supporst start-up costs for the program including signage, computer equipment, educational materials, marketing and Town staff time. The Town of Truckee expects that future user fees will cover most of the annual costs of operating the program.

TMWA Benefit:

This program provides great benefit to TMWA by protecting Donner Lake from future water quality degradation by aquatic invasive species. TMWA owns half of the storage in Donner Lake, and it is a critical drought storage reserve for TMWA.
