Forest Thinning around Independence Lake
This project entails forest thinning on 100 to 120 acres of mixed conifer forest within the Independence Lake watershed under the direction of The Nature Conservancy.
TMWA Benefit:
This project supports protection of water quality and the watershed of Independence Lake, a major source of drought protection water for TMWA. Completion of the project will reduce the risk of catastrophic fire and erosion/sediment deposition into the lake.
